Poverty & Affluence Goes to the Theater!!

Join Poverty & Affluence to see the new play Corbury the Queen's governor this Saturday (31st). We are meeting in the Lobby at 1 pm sharp to make the 2 pm showing. Metrocard is a must!!

Play Info:

Was one of the first governors of New York a drag queen?

Cornbury: The Queen's Governor relates the legendary tale of

Edward Hyde, the British governor of colonial New York who is

now remembered primarily for his rumored habit of dressing as

his first cousin, Queen Anne.

With wit, beautiful language, and lots of heart, this

riotous historical romp raises important questions about the

early days of New York, and the nature of American society.

Co-written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize nominee William

M. Hoffman (As Is; Ghosts of Versailles) and Anthony Holland,

Cornbury features downtown theater legends David Greenspan

and Everett Quinton together on stage for the first time.
